Thanks to "Jumpin' Jack" Yushi Ozeki, Nintendo Power Source's roving reporter in Japan, we had an insider on the post-Tokyo Game Show press tour of Konami Computer Entertainment Osaka & Kobe (KCE Osaka). We've finally translated Yushi's in-depth report on his visit, and have collected a bunch of exclusive screen shots of Konami's N64 development projects. During his visit, Yushi had a chance to interview many of Konami's Nintendo 64 game developers and producers. According to Mr. Kinoshita, the President of KCE Osaka, the Nintendo 64 is the most important system for Konami Osaka R&D branch. Altogether, 10 teams and a total of 150-160 people are working on Nintendo 64 games in this office.

Mr. Kinoshita is a 16 year veteran of Konami who now has almost complete discretion on the activities of KCE Osaka, which allows him to move forward on many projects very quickly. The focus at KCE Osaka is to make the most interesting games possible regardless of the hardware used, but currently they are focusing on the Nintendo 64. Mr. Kinoshita believes that there is a lot of potential in the Nintendo 64, and that it is possible for it to be as popular in Japan as it is in the US market. Strong support from Konami, a traditionally pro-Nintendo company, will certainly add to the growing library of quality Nintendo 64 software!

During the press tour, Yushi had a chance to see several Nintendo 64 titles, including Nagano Winter Olympics ‘98, G.A.S.P.! and NBA In The Zone. Follow the links to find out more about these games, including exclusive screen shots and AVI files.
